The use of direct measurements of the TM71 extensometer for the first time in Turkey to calculate the current slip rate of active faults represents a significant advance in seismic hazard assessment. The project has a high potential for indirect mitigation of the consequences of seismic disasters for approximately 15 million people living in this seismically active region. The project planned to install TM71 instruments on already selected faults (by Dr. Uzel and Dr. Štÿpanÿíková ZSC in September 2023) and pre-selected locations. In this draft of the constitutional task, we are requesting at least funds for field work associated with the installation of 1 to 2 meters, so that field work, and especially monitoring, can already begin and it would be possible to obtain the longest possible time series.
